The Directors
GreenChip is very much a Director-led business, with all three of its principal Directors being heavily involved in the day-to-day workings of the company. We bring to our clients a wealth of experience, delivering a client-focused business operations approach.
Steve Barlow
Operations Director
A Chartered Energy Engineer with over 30 years’ energy management experience, Steve is a CIBSE approved Low Carbon Consultant with experience delivering diverse technical and administrative projects in the private and public sector. He has led many teams throughout his career, in wide-ranging commercial and industrial utility management projects.
In addition to utility account management and the handling of supplier problems, Steve’s experience extends into helping clients with technical projects, utility surveying, the installation of AMR metering as well as the implementation of various legislative carbon compliance regulations.
Russell Jones
Services Director
Russell has worked in the utility management field since graduating with a degree in Economics and Statistics from Exeter University. His strength, statistical analysis, has enabled him to develop as a consultant specialising in tendering and brokering for energy contracts, as well as handling client account portfolios. His eye for detail and market knowledge have led to significant savings for a wide range of clients in electricity, gas and water related issues surrounding billing problems and usage patterns.
With a career spanning over 20 years in utilities, his vast experience has included managing and calculating tenant recharges in multi-occupied buildings, managing and reporting of invoice data and verification of client carbon emission reporting. His clients span a wide range of industrial and commercial business sectors, with several nationally recognised leaders in the real estate sector, both acting for landlords as well as managing agents. Other clients include local authorities, student housing providers and national retailers.
Jane Willcox
Services Director
Jane has over 15 years’ experience in utility account management. With a good head for accounting from her previous career, Jane has worked with and supported a range of clients providing services including invoice validation, data collation and analysis, utility budgets, new supply requirements and the identification and resolution of utility account disputes and errors. Jane is also responsible for the supervision of the monitoring and reporting team in GreenChip, supervising colleagues in the delivery of account management tasks.
She is involved in the presentation of reports and dealing with various issues at client liaison meetings, discussing their portfolios and business requirements and advising them on the latest utility market news. Several of Jane’s clients have been loyal supporters of the business as they recognise the value Jane brings to their management services.

Megan Lamey
Account Manager
Megan has been working with the GreenChip team since 2019. As a fast learner in the art of delivering effective customer services, she has become a firm favourite with clients: a ‘go-to’ person at GreenChip. She is experienced in handling complex account disputes with suppliers and responding to client queries in a fast and efficient manner. Highly organised, she is a key part of the team and is responsible for delivering services to our largest client portfolio, amongst others
Dan Porto
Account Manager
Dan joined our team at the start of 2021. Educated at Portsmouth University, he gained a first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering, which has proven to be a great grounding. His technical understanding and eye for detail has already been in great demand supporting the team on various technical issues.
With good computer IT database handling skills from his previous experience, he is becoming a knowledgeable source of technical information. He also has experience in providing customer service support and is focused on client account management.
